Home PC Patrol Remote Assistance Service
How Secure is Home PC Patrol's Remote Assistance Program?
Home PC Patrol's Remote Assistance Program is initiated by you, the client; and you must call first so that we are aware who is attempting to connect and what we need to assist with. When you click on the program it allows you to share access to your computer with us. Home PC Patrol cannot start a connection to your computer the program simply allows you to connect to us.
Home PC Patrol's Remote Assistance Program can only connect to the two encrypted Home PC Patrol Remote Assistance servers located in our office once we have opened the ports for you. The ports are generally kept closed when no remote assistance service is in session; however if we are already connected to another user, and the ports are already open, an accidental connection can occur. The servers are not running unless arrangements are made in advance, or we are connected to another client to attempt to alleviate this issue and avoid confusion. The program cannot be used to connect to any other PCs besides the Home PC Patrol Remote Assistance Servers.
Home PC Patrol's Remote Assistance Program does not allow incoming connections (connections from another computer into yours) from Home PC Patrol or any other computer. It is strictly one way access through our firewalls into our servers.
Home PC Patrol's Remote Assistance Program cannot be started when no one is present. You have to double click on the program's icon yourself or the program will not run.
The Home PC Patrol's Remote Assistance Program automatically disconnects if the connection is idle for more than 5 minutes. Home PC Patrol cannot re-establish this connection from our end; and occasionally we may have to call you to reconnect us if the connection is lost due to activity time out or internet service interruption.
Additionally, if the computer requires a restart for any reason, Home PC Patrol will not be able to maintain the connection through the restart; so you will have to reconnect us once the restart is complete.
Home PC Patrol's Remote Assistance Program is automatically and systematically uninstalled when the connection is closed leaving no trace in your program files or the registry.
